One of the outcome that has come out of research project aimed at ethnographic study of city life and providing solution for day to day problem faced by citizen. We designed a banking solution based on mobile phones after detailed study of coolies and daily wage workers at Cottonpet, Bangalore.

In First attempt towards solution, we designed an ATM that accepts cash to deposite money and finger print sensor  replacing banking cards. However this system has its own short comings in case of daily wage workers i.e. coolies at Cottonpet.

In second iteration when we looked at ATM for urban poor due to lot of cons over few of pro, we came up with another totally different system of scratch card coupons that fits in their daily activity, use mobile phone, does not bring entirely new system and provides a win-win situation for shopkeepers and daily wage workers.
