"The Screaming Pope (S.P.P) is Ireland’s newest and most unique arts award exclusively organized as part of K-fest Music and the Arts Festival that is held annually in Killorglin, Co. Kerry on the June Bank Holiday Weekend.

The Screaming Pope Prize is awarded for talent and ability in creation, composition and clarity of vision of an artwork in any visual medium.
The five shortlisted finalists will be showcased at Camden Palace Hotel on February 20th 2015.

K-fest Music & the Arts, through The Screaming Pope Prize, aims to promote artistic culture in all its forms by presenting emerging and ground-breaking artists in a unique setting and develop long-term relationships with the artists that participate. 
2014 was the inaugural year of the Screaming Pope Prize.

Both K-fest and The Screaming Pope Prize are non-profit, community-based initiatives. All committee members are volunteers working solely for the betterment of their community with a drive and passion to deliver a unique and enjoyable product to the public.

As part of our ongoing promotion of the work of our Screaming Pope Prize 2014 winner and four runners-up, we are holding a number of exhibitions around the country. The first of these will be our 2015 launch, which will be held in the Camden Palace in Cork on Friday February 20th."

 

As one of the finalists of last years Screaming Pope Prize at Kfest 2014, I was delighted to take part in this exhibition which opened on the 20th of this month.
