This is a series of quotes I made for a magazine I'm working on at the moment. The magazine, called BEAT, is a music magazine with a very grungy yet flowery style, and I wanted to reflect that soft grunge attitude in the way the quotes were presented.
Roses and heroin seem to me to be a very Courtney Love combination. Despite her very intense attitude, she seems to me to be the real mother of soft grunge.
Because of the grungy style of the magazine, a lot of the text was hand lettered, so I apllied that to this rolling stones quote as well.
This image was a lot of fun to make. I walked around the garden in my parents house and collected plants and flowers to take the original picture of the plants. I love projects like this one.
