The Smithsonian Oceanic Collection of natural science children's books features my illustrations in eleven of their award winning titles. From dolphins and sharks to clownfish and puffers, I've created watercolor paintings of ocean life from reef to deep sea. All of the books required extensive research and curatorial review of sketches and finished art before being published. Working with editors who put me in contact with biologists at the National Zoo in Washington,DC as well as researchers like Dr. Amanda Vincent from Project Seahorse made ensuring the accuracy of my illustrations possible.
This series presents facts on marine life in an interesting and amusing way. My illustrations have been praised for their detail and color in bringing my audience into watery environments all over the world. The books have been honored with Parent's Choice Awards, The Ben Franklin Award and have been School Library Journal Selections.
