The HISTORY INKED project is intended to be a meaningful way to remember and pay respect to the events that transpired over the course of 2014. Over the years I’ve begun to recognize the importance of remembering the past wether it is from a historical perspective where we’re trying to form a larger narrative that we can use to make sense of this chaos around us or the people that play important roles in our lives or the small moments that make our existence beautiful.
My hope for this project is that over the years 5, 10 or 15 years from now I can look back over the body of work that has been created between now and then and remember all of those major events but also the smaller moments in between.
These beautiful designs will be printed using the letter press technique so every single print will have a uniqueness. Each design will be printed at 10” x 10” on an 11.4” x 11.4”* sheet in editions of 200 that are signed, titled and editioned by hand. Each print you receive comes with a signed certificate of authenticity as well. To ensure these pieces stay limited, the plates used to make them will be defaced after the print run so they can never be used again.
