The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) and SportsBlog.com teamed up to launch the NBPA's Logo Challenge: A chance to make sports history alongside one of the most renowned organizations in professional sports, by designing their new NBPA Logo.
Criteria for the New Logo design included: appropriately representing the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) membership & mission; communicate unity, strength and a shared common goal; and for the Logo to feel new and different from the current branding.
Participants (fans & design professionals) submitted logo design entries from mid-December through mid-January. Fans then voted on SportsBlog for the Top 5 logo designs until February 2nd. The Top 5 logo designs were then presented to the NBA players & active NBPA members who selected my submission as the winning Logo. I was informed of the win, a few days before the NBA All-Star break, and won the grand prize of experiencing the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend in New York City!
*The new Logo is currently unofficial as the NBPA will make a final decision in upcoming executive meetings this Spring, but I've been asked to be involved in further development of the final Logo, so I'm looking forward to updating this project!
