This project gave me the opportunity to work as part of a multi- disciplinary team, with team members from across the globe and from a diverse range of backgrounds.

 

The brief was to design a useful and sustainable solution to an environmental challenge. It was the choice of the group to explore the challenges faced by the Scottish fishing industry and the people affected by this.

 

The final outcome was a series of viral design interventions that were intended to act as “catalysts of conversation”. It was hoped that these catalysts would stimulate conversation and foster a greater understanding of the problems facing the fishing industry today.

 

This project included thorough ethnographic research, which allowed the group to gather large amounts of information on the personal experiences of the many people involved with, and connected to the Scottish fishing industry.
