Dieter Rams created the celebrated Ten Principles of Good Design as an answer to the question he asked himself: "Is my design good design?". It has also served generations of designers as a checklist when judging their own work.
Using the list as a starting point, and also as my own checklist for the project, I created a poster!
Taking Dieter Rams' design queues and Joseph Muller Brockmann's principles for graphic design, I illustrated the Ten Principles in a simple, easy-to-read way that can easily be used as a checklist for generations to come.
The poster - yellow.
the colors chosen for the poster are reminiscent of Dieter Rams' design aesthetic.
White and black are used to highlight the importance of each principle, depending on the background color.
