Situé sur la frontière entre techniques virtuelles et traditionnelles, FILZ I explore le potentiel constructif de la rencontre entre savoir-faire manuel et numérique. Ce luminaire met de l’avant, bois et feutre de laine, découpés numériquement et assemblés avec une méthode héritée, la couture. Entièrement paramétrique, seul les nouveaux outils de conception ont permis un arrimage précis des matériaux pour la réalisation de la lampe.
Par un juste accord entre notre héritage et notre réalité moderne, FILZ I tente d’équilibrer la tendance actuelle de virtualisation de la construction en révélant un potentiel constructif riche et inattendu.

On the border between digital and traditional techniques, FILZ I explores the constructive potential of the encounter between manual and digital skills. This luminaire brings wood and wool felt together, both laser cut, then assembled with an inherited method, sewing. The parametric approach allowed really precise details, which were needed for the assembly of the lamp.
Seeking balance between our heritage and modern reality, FILZ I reacts to the current trend of high virtualization in construction fields by revealing a rich and unexpected constructive potential.
