Value Pillars
I was asked to design and paint the pillars in the TreeHouse office space and wear house to reflect the organization’s values: Integrity, Innovation, Compassionate Service, Champions for Foster Kids, and Collaboration. This is a joyful project because it is being shared with a few amazingly wonderful women.

When I first described the task to Sari, she commented that the project reminded her of a children’s book called “Miss Rumphius” by Barbara Cooney. In the book, Alice Rumphius' grandfather tells her that it’s important to “do something to make the world more beautiful.” Alice grows up and lives a full and adventurous life traveling and making friends around the world but it isn’t enough. She finds happiness in her Grandfather’s advice as she scatters lupine seeds everywhere. The seeds bloom and the flowers transform the landscape bringing Alice joy and making the world more beautiful.

I hope these colorful pillars make the TreeHouse office space and wearhouse more beautiful. Sari Israel and I are working together in the TreeHouse pillar project.

I completed the mural (Cover) in the TreeHouse "Wearhouse" a couple years ago.
