Gianco's 21st (Retro Future)

I was tasked to create a series of posters based on the theme, Retro Future, for my brother's 21st Birthday.

I based my designs on two aspects under Retro Futurism: the Atomic Age (a pre-World War 2 era where people were obsessed and paranoid with the rise of atomic bombs) and the Space Age (that era back in the 50s-60s when people were obsessed with a future of living in space).

I drew inspiration from these:
- The Jetsons
- Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
- Fallout (videogame)
- Back to the Future 2
- Iron Giant
- Forbidden Planet
- Meet the Robinsons
- Tomorrowland (the small park inside Disneyland)

I also browsed through different 50s-60s videos to get more or less what the Atomic Age was like.

The Invitation
Inspired by the Atomic Age era (1940 - 1960), where people were obsessed with their safety from atomic bombs
The Digital Age
I mixed elements of the vision of the future of both today's time (Digital Age) and from the 50s (Retro Future) to create this unique piece

Note: Images are from various old movie posters online
World of Tomorrow
Inspired by the Space Age
The Atomic Age
Inspired by logos from the 50s
The Family of the Future
Inspired by the Space Age and Atomic Age Design, where families in the 50s-60s imagined a world of technology and space-living
