Foldable chair for the elderly

A foldable chair that is designed for the elderly. The chair is useful in many ways. First of all it is a foldable chair that can be easily sotred away when not in use. This will create more space in the home, or taken else where as a portable chair. The chair can easily be opened out by pulling on the hand and the top of the back frame, and closed in the same manner. The frame is made of a hard plastic, and the poles a polished aluminium.
The seat has been designed to be at a small decline when fully open. This is to make it easier to get out of, as it can be more difficult for some as we age. There is a storage section on the right arm rest. Here magazines, remotes and other various things can be stored, along with a cup holder on the left arm rest.
Below is the origianl poster at the time of the presentation. It has since been revised as seen in the two above.
Below are the key dimensions for the product, showing the decline on the seat of 4 degrees.
It was required of me to make a prototype for this model. I used a couple of materials to produce this. The plastic frame was made from a laser cutter that cut out the desired shape and was then bent to form the arm rests and corners.
The seat padding and base was made using some blue foam, which was then carved into shape to fit the plastic frame and show the seating outline.
Finally, dowels were used to portray the rails used in the final design.
