Fourteen is an 8x10, soft cover, coptic bound art book. The book will be hand bound, and limited edition, with a laser cut cover. Currently the edition is set to 114, with 100 copies for the public and 14 copies for the artists. Upon reaching the goal, a stretch goal will be implemented for an additional 100 copies for the public and so on.

The book will be printed locally at GHP media in New Haven CT. You can see their website here:  http://www.ghpmedia.com/

There are 14 artists within the book each holding their own signature. Names and links will be listed at the bottom.
The book's concept plays off the number 14 and its relation to the year 2014. The design of the book, and more specifically the black squares motif, plays off the idea of internet picture thumbnails. Unfortunately flickr has recently updated the design of their site, so the relationship between the site and the motif can no longer be seen to its full effect. Although, for those who can recall the original flickr layout, that is now nostalgic to many of the curated artists, you will remember the thumbnails in a very similar spaced out grid. Lastly, the decision was made to instead of minimize the photographs placed inside these black squares, as thumbnails traditionally do, instead let them act as a window to the image behind. This design choice acts as my touch as a part of the conceptual and surrealistic theme flowing throughout many of the artists' signatures.
A non flexible "lux" postcard by Moo as a thank you will be sent to you in the mail. Your postcard will be selected at random from the four designs promoting the project. Each postcard will be shipped without an exterior envelope allowing the mailing process to have its effect, making this postcard an archive of both the project and the process of being a postcard itself.
A promotional t-shirt for the book, printed on a white "Fruit of the Loom". The design will be screenprinted, continuing the handmade aesthetic, using two colors.
8x10 collaged design print, edition of 14. Each print will consist of a 8x10 white stock, laser cut with "Fourteen" motif to show the image beneath. This will give the print a tactile feel like the book's cover and continues the conceptual theme, more specifically the window aesthetic, used throughout the book.
