The chapter KITSCH from the book "Die deutsche Seele" written by Thea Dorn & Richard Wagner deals with the meaning, the origin and the history of the term KITSCH. The Author amplifies through various speculations and assumptions how the term was originated in the 1870s and illustrates its meaning with a set of expressiv Examples. He concludes that a word KITSCH is a very strong, accusing word of command and self-explanatory by itself:
“Already by its sound you think to know the reference to the point.”
My goal was to pick up the rhythm from the spoken text of the audio book version and to create an animation which reflects the humorous character of the chapter and visually supports it.
(sorry that there is only a german version )
