Tiger Kids and more

Pip and Pap, the little tiger kids! - Under this heading the author Peter Deeg has created a number of stories about the experience of two tiger kids in a zoo on their secret excursions into the enclosure of other animals. ...
... We wanted to tell these stories in apps on the iPad while remaining close to the ideal of the classic picture book. This turned into an app for reading aloud in which the story is completed and accompanied by short animation sequences. ...
... For visualization I decided against the cartoon series style of the numerous apps in the AppStore. Intended for children up to six years, everything should look sweet and homely in a special way. During development of the characters I directed myself mainly toward the views of children which we often interviewed therefore. Thats why Pip and Pap now look what they look like: not quite tiger, a bit cat and very, very innocent, sweet and friendly. As an illustrator with a penchant for realistic style this was a hard job. My little 'Thank You‘: a number of small perkier supporting actors, smuggled in the pictures. ...
... We have realized the animations in HTML 5, CSS and Java Script.
This took a long time and brought me and especially Jonathan Holler, who programmed the entire App, a few times to the limits of HTML - valuable lessons for our future project plans.
...
Facts: 2 Apps, 28 scenes, over 300 drawings, 37 animations
Used tools: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Audition, Edge Animate …
My team parts: direction, illustration, animation planning, sound setting, production.
