This is a circle puzzle that, when completed, revealed a portal to a new level. Click on the arrow in the middle to see a spider animation.
In the online casual game world, before the paradigm shift to phone games, there was more screen real estate for graphics. There was a standard in this genre of casual games that even routine interface elements like credits and options screens would have a graphical treatment.  Here is the Credits screen for Ancient Mysteries.
