J.Lo really loved the laser cut floral perforation. In 2001 it was still quite a new technique for leather. Used in the logo for the cropped bomber above. It was bonded to a flesh colored organza in the pants to give it strength and a secret modesty.
Three different leathers were used in this laced front, low rise boot cut pant in cold dyed blue suede and stretch waistband.
Trying to find a fit model to fit to the measurements of Jennifer Lopez wasn't easy. Then one evening, I was lucky enough to find a curvy beauty walking past me when I began the project. She turned out to be a Miss Colombia, Diana Figueroa.
This was a special antiqued suede to in indigo and in black with a stretch backing. As was her stage costumes, so did she want her garments to fit. This jean jacket interpretation was edited down from mink fur lined to a basic suede unfortunately.
Jennifer wanted so badly to use furs but the partners had other plans for the brand direction. When it became too expensive, I decided to take my ideas and reinterpret them into what would become my first company, JUNE.
