Meaning 'Slice' in swedish. This word was used because it describes the shape of the side profile of the product, it also represents a slice in the way that it is a small part of a whole environtment, if you take it away then something is missing but with this product, it is whole.

The Skiva is a portable workstation for a wide range of creative workers including painters, writers, designers, craftsmen and hobbyists. It has a handle on the rear of the product for easy transportation and protective brass strips on the front of the product and also the top of the surface within the tray designed for placement of tools, pens and other small equipment. The rubber cord strip is used for a non-slip protective barrier for placing paper or books or laptops on the Skiva and this prevents them from sliding off the product.

It is hand made from four parts of plywood, a strip of brass flat bar, a strip of brass half round bar, four brass pins and a length of rubber o-ring cord.
