we have these grand ideas of what aliens be like, and we talk of outlandish abstract concepts, but when it comes down to it, on some level we expect them to look like us, and think like us, and behave like us, and i for one hope we don't make our début into the ranks of sentient space-travellers by introducing ourselves to the potted plants.
