My client wanted a way to display his beloved Italian 'Cinelli' road bikes in his home.

I suggested using solid chunks of Englisk Oak with the end grain on full display. Heartwood sections of Oak were chosen as it's fascinating to see the growth rings radiating from the centre.
 
The client provided detailed drawings of the required dimensions including the exact angle and width of each recess ensuring each bike would sit parallel with the ground.
 
The blocks attach to the wall via solid metal plates with 10mm hardened steel pins extending 200mm into each block. The final touch was to line each recess with wonderfuuly soft black black Napa leather.
 
The Oak was simply finished with a couple of coats of bee's wax.
