Zon, A Chinese Tea Set.

Zon is a modern take on the Chinese tea culture that includes a tea set and a turning tea table. The aim of Zon is to reinforce the gathering of people, the method of tea brewing and the appriciation of tea drinking.

Zon is based on the Chinese "Kong Fu Tea" (also known as Old Man's Tea), which originated in China and is largely practiced in Taiwan as well as Hong Kong. The word Zon is an abbreviation of the Chinese word "众" (Zhong), meaning multitude, public and a gathering of people. It is also the inspiration for the logo.

The set includes a teapot, a tea lotus, three tea cups, a Lazy Susan (turning) tea table and wood box packaging. The set also comes with user manual that introduces the culture and steps of brewing Chinese tea. The set is porcelain and locally handmade here in Brooklyn.

人 -  The gathering of people

人 -  The method of tea brewing

人 -  The appreciation for tea drinking

In many cultures, tea drinking is considered as a gathering activity where family and friends have conversations and bond together while enjoying the leisure and art of brewing tea. Zon seeks to bring back this "communal" tea drinking activity which is seen less now where people usually just have a mug for such beverage.

The goal is to bring this communal tea drinking activity which is a value that lays in the old to merge with the new, to reintroduce tea drinking as a practice that can be relaxing, socializing and a healthy routine for modern people.
