Nightingale AFFINITY

This is the video for our our final project for HCDE 518c. We all contributed to the content, I provided many of the assets and Rebecca created the video in iMovie.
The Nightingale AFFINITY was designed to help caregivers take care of themselves. Full-time caregivers, especially ones without family or institutional support easily burn out and find it difficult to leave their loved one to shop or go to the gym.

Team Nightingale: Kristine Kohlhepp, Christine Baldwin, Rebecca Shapiro, and Scott Taylor.

Logo & Name
First, we brainstormed on a name for the group. I suggested Nightingale as a reference to Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing and a patron saint of caretaking. Also, it had an appealing bird attached to it. I chose this bird because I felt it was “leaning in” thus paying close attention. Rebecca and I were both fond of the Gotham font. It’s modern and has a variety of faces of weights. I suggested Affinity as a product name by looking through synonyms for “connected.” It suggests sympathy, affection, likeness, and similarity. It expresses connection without connotations of being leashed, watched, and controlled. It had the best feel to it.
