Brussels - City of Diversity
City walk
Brussels may seem an odd place to go on vacation but as a city there is a lot of diversity. The population is not just the French and the Flemish, there are a great many ethnic groups all co-habiting a city of statues, parks, historic buildings and cultural places.
Here are a few of the places I had the chance to visit in a relatively short time.

The cover shot says it all - Belgium the place where the French fries meet mayonaise.

Above one of the cultural areas in the city where you can watch a fantastic display of stunts.
Symmetry - There is something eye catching about symmetrical patterns, especially when they are in a beautiful setting.
One of my favorite photos of the day. Only in Brussels have I seen a tram pushing the gate open to exclude vehicles from entering
Walking around one of the many parks, there are always statues to feast the eyes on. With the sun filtering through the trees the day was idyllic in every way.
The Grand Place is the obvious choice for many visitors, all wanting to see the famous architecture that left the architect somewhat embarrassed. (you can read about that yourself on the internet.)
If clocks are your thing, this one is certainly different.
For those with green fingers - try re-potting the flowers in these pots !
Now if Chocolate is your thing, then these photos should make your mouth water.
Sweets , Biscuits and Chocolates - now who dare go in there and come out empty handed?
Le Manequin Pis - the pissing statue, somehow this is becoming more popular as time goes on.
Strawberries are a girls best friend - especially when they are covered in chocolate
Leaving the centre now and walking about a kilometer away one can watch an excellent display of skills as everyone who wants can try their luck.  (By the way I am the one holding the camera so I thought it good to pass on this occasion.)
The crowning glory - the top of the Palais de Justice
If you think this looks easy you should try for yourself !
The Atomium - this is a Science park and is enourmous - in case you are wondering the distance from lens to the atomium here was about 8 Kilometers !
Inside each of the atoms there are rooms with science projects to try out.
Time for a nice healthy snack. The sunlight provided  perfect tones, and blends of color
Finally the Palais de Justice. Currently it is under restoration and cleaning and hopefully one day will produce beautiful bold colors in the afternoon sunlight.
