INTERVENÇÃO EM EDIFÍCIO POMBALINO ATRAVÉS DE ATITUDE SUSTENTÁVEL
Numa época onde a situação demográfica do centro histórico de Lisboa atinge níveis críticos e o edificado se degrada sem perspetivas futuras de reabilitação, propõe-se projetar de forma a contrariar estas tendências. O projeto pretende intervir no espaço pombalino de forma a adaptá-lo às novas necessidades e exigências da sociedade contemporânea. Aliando elementos representativos da época pombalina, como a estrutura em gaiola ou os padrões da azulejaria, a materiais sustentáveis, como o cartão, procura-se criar um elemento que se integre no espaço e que se adapte à nova sociedade. A sustentabilidade ambiental, social e económica é um conceito que está na base de todo o projeto. Através da utilização de técnicas de carpintaria pombalina, pretende-se empregar mão-de-obra local de forma a possibilitar novas oportunidades de emprego a quem, devido à crise económica ou ao facto de as oficinas de carpintaria já não serem tão requisitadas como outrora tiveram, se encontra em situações económica e sociais frágeis. Esta atitude permite dinamizar social mas também economicamente a Baixa Pombalina e os seus habitantes.
INTERVENTION IN THE POMBALINE LIVING SPACE THROUGH SUSTAINABLE ATTITUDE
At a time where the demographic situation of the historical centre of Lisbon reaches critical levels and the buildings wears out without view of rehabilitation or renovation, it is proposed to project in a manner to fail those tendencies. The project aims to intervene in the pombaline space in a way to adapt it to the new requirements and demands of the modern society. Combining elements that represent the pombaline era, such as the cage structure or the tile patterns, to sustainable materials, such as cardboard, it is aimed to create an element that blends with the space and adapts to the new society. The environmental, societal and economical sustainability is a concept which creates the basis for the entire project. Through the utilisation of pombaline carpentry techniques, it is intended to recruit local residents in view to create new job opportunities to individuals that have been affected by the economic crisis and the closing of carpentry shops as they are no longer sought after. This attitude enables the social and economical dynamization of the pombaline downtown.
