Lakewood Cemetery, established in 1871, is one of America's most beautiful landscapes in the rural cemetery tradition. Recognizing the value of protecting Lakewood's beauty while ensuring its future as an active cemetery, the Board of Directors engaged Halvorson Design to direct a comprehensive Master Plan study. An important recommendation of the Master Plan involves development of a garden mausoleum and visitor reception complex near the main entrance. Halvorson Design has collaborated with HGA Architects to develop this new facility completed in early 2012.
