TWI-Global Granta Conference Centre
Corporate Animation - 2014 - 2 weeks
The Granta Centre is a new conference venue on the outskirts of Cambridge, UK. TWI-Global, the lead partner in the science park where the Granta Centre is situated, comissioned a short 45-60 second animated video aimed at highlighting some of the new venue's key qualities.
I teamed up with Shawy on this short turn around commission. We worked long distance (him in France, me in the UK) for an intense 2 weeks to complete a particularly vague brief.
We collaborated closely on a storyboard to match up our initial ideas and then set straight to work. Shawy designed and hand animated the characters whilst I wrote the script and found the music. Then, as the characters were done, I cleaned the hand drawn frames in photoshop and timed out the animation whilst Shawy set to work on the environments and objects. I then compositied and edited it all together.
Our short triumphed over 5 other entries because of it's humour and solid little narrative. Depending on what the company wants to do with the animation (it was never explicitly mentioned) we might add a few things (including colour!) in the future.
Thanks for Watching!
