Supercar Concept
These images were completed during the Winter break of 2014. The front 3/4 view was based on a series of different thumbnail sketches which I had been doing throughout the previous year, and decided to push into a complete drawing when I had the time. It follows a classic supercar silhouette but with angular lines and surfacing and deep body sections giving it an aggresive feeling to the extreme. The rear 3/4 image was a little more spontaneous, based on the same front images and with a definite countach feel for the deep-set rear lamps and a high rear end with little body other than the extensive diffuser shrouding the exposed rear differential casing.
I took inspiration from concept car illustrations and advertising material from the 1960s and 1970s with regards to the style and background. The front 3/4 image has simple highlights as though shot in a high tec photographic studio. The rear 3/4 has a contemporary building backdrop inspired by some Syd Mead work, and a very retro inspired logo on the wall to give some character.
Both pieces were completed in around a day between working on other projects and physical cars.
