Self initiated fashion illustration series using only pencil. The inspiration for the project was the black and white pattern and print being showcased in SS14/SS15 from designers such as Diane Von Furstenberg. I used the black backgrounds as a method to direct attention to the patterns and to make the portraits the secondary focus.

The illustrations were produced on a Wacom Cintiq using a custom pencil toolset ranging from 3H to 4B. The backgrounds were created using squid ink on Daler Rowney Aquafine paper and composited onto the original drawings with a layer mask in Photoshop.
