Design Prompt: Design for Good is “a movement to ignite, accelerate and amplify design-driven social change.” Good design can impact social change and benefit the world, our country and our communities. Designers and effective design solutions have given voice to important issues that impact us all. Evidence of this is clear through campaigns that have raised awareness and changed behavior and attitudes towards smoking, nutrition, and recycling, to name a few. In this exhibition, students will bring attention to a non-profit organization of their choice that serves the greater Philadelphia region, and are invited to participate in a T-shirt gallery and fundraising exhibit.
Designed to show the advantages of adopting, “Save an Animal, Gain a Best Friend” is a slogan created to promote Philadoptables mission statement. The banner forms are simplified to make the message seem friendly. This organization strives to rescue and foster pets until finding a permanent home. I believe that adoption is the best route to saving an animal and can also lead to you finding your new best friend.
