For 2014, I wanted to create my own Christmas Cards but something simple, elegant, and different. I wanted the theme to stay with snowflakes, as you see enough trees and santa's. So I chose six, more complex than average, designs and went with those...
I started off by outlining any lines I couldn't clearly see and making sure I didn't confuse the half's when focused. Then I would start cutting out the left side so that the paper underneath came through...
Then it was time for the right side to follow show through and put the emphasis on the snowflake.
The paper I used was a 300gsm white linen card for the outside, while the inside was a 120gsm Evening Blue Shimmer paper (Iridescent Collection) from Inspire Me Papers...
After the cutting was done I'd stamp the text inside. Using standard linoleum and silver metallic paint I'd stamp these on adding 'Merry' in myself...
And now after a week and 70 cards later, my fingertip is still numb (and it's been 3 days since I finished them) and I don't want to see a scalpel again for a few weeks!

Overall though, it was great fun to create something custom to add that 'special' to the recipients' card.
Thank you very much for looking!
