4Poker
4Poker is a mobile app, built to help poker players to find tournaments (or even matches), via internet and GPS. The platform offers an array of features, such as player rankings, poker houses reviews, etc. The main concern behind their brand was not to be confused with poker-playing apps, such as Pokerstars. To tacke that, we designed an icon that clearly acts as a map pointer.
The sword symbol was chosen for its readbility in small sizes and claer recognition. Other suits coucl be easily confused with different topics (while hearts gives us notion of romance, diamonds is too simple as a shape and clubs could be confused for a tree).
Dark blue tones make reference to the night (a proper time for playing poker), while a bright red helps to achieve vibrance and contrast.
