APP DESIGN: HOBBYIST
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Hobbyist is an app that encourages people to discover activities in their daily life. Whether at home, work or with friends, take pleasure in achieving healthy habits and personal interests with Hobbyist.

PROBLEM
How might we explore our past time hobbies/ interests and create a habit in the present fast-moving urban lifestyle?
SOLUTION
A platform that enables people to explore their passions and interests while building a habit of balancing between work and play by tracking activities and hobbies.
DISCOVERY
At the start of the semester we did brainstorm sessions on our interest and feelings as an exercise to verbalize our thinking in a set of categories - Pain, Pleasure, Action / Behavior and Time & Places. This led to the selection of a main area of interest to provide a solution for.
The next step was researching precedents for a health & lifestyle app; Lift, Sosh and mapped the function systems on each precedents.
Side note*: A book I found had increased my knowledge on UX and user behavior is "Hooked" by Nir Eval, which I had referenced in this project about the idea of action and reward system. (See below)

IDEATION
This phase enables development on visualizing the concept. The process includes Scenario generation, systems mapping, MVP matrix, followed with wire-framing.

PROTOTYPE
Some functions were tested on real-world users, such as the check-in progress function and reward system using Flinto software and a promo interaction video was created using Tumult Hype as a presentation tool.
