‘Segments of Reality’ has been an exploration into viewing, understanding and interpreting photographic images. Through theory and practice based research and testing I have discovered how important it is to question imagery. These days it is a normality to accept images as facts and as reality. ‘Segments of Reality’ aims to make viewers realise the ideology behind imagery, and encourages them to question what is in front of them. Because an image is never really as it seems. The final outcome is a short film / visual essay that highlights the realisations that I made in my process.
