Adonica Kube is an Umbrella Band catering to organic self care and wellness products, based out of Dubai and Singapore. They wanted to open their first retail outlet in Singapore, and came to FRDC for the design. I was a part of the team that conceptualized the store, which got executed in Katong Mall in singapore.
The theme chosen to represent the Brand's philosophy was that of earth. Inspirational moodboards were created, and a down to the earth approach was adopted.
The theme 'Earth' inspired a pragmatic, functional yet sleek design, that had none of the coarseness typcally associated with organics. The simple but effective usage of material, finish and texture brought out the concept of earthy organic, easily, while the sleek designs hinted at its urban and cosmopolitan image.
I was mainly involved in developing the initial design, and work out spatial elements, and how they may be outfitted in different spatial layouts.
The store opened in August. The central feature of the store was an installation element, the Adonica Tree. The darker and lighter tones of the interiors demarcated the product segments.
The floor units, used to carry Products, VM and nfo, inspired from the gradual growth of a sapling.
A second unit, used to house the new arrivals and the wellness products was embedded into the entrance of the store.
This project was my first full fledged retail project , which gave me immense insight into the process followed in retail design. I would like to thank the designers on my team, and the firm, FRDC, for giving me this opportunity.
