A series created for an astrologer.  Each work uses greek myth associations to depict the astronomical planet it is associated with.
Venus and the Three Graces: Venus rises from sea foam as a fully realized personification of beauty. She is assisted by the three graces, who dress and prepare her for a journey to Olympia. [ Planet: Venus ]

The Oracle of Apollo: Apollo is shown hovering over the earth, as if from the perspective of the Sun looking down on Gaia. In myth, Apollo is associated with horses and stringed instruments, depicted here as a tattoo and guitar. One hand appears strong, while the other is turned face up holding a heart--indicating the irony that while he was so strong, he was so unlucky in love. Pining for Apollo for days and nights, the water-nymph, Clytie, was so in love with the Sun, that another God took pity on her and rooted her into the ground as a sunflower.
Myth of Mercury: On the day he was born, Mercury escaped his crib and stole 50 heifers from his brother Apollo. Also known as the trickster, or the shadow, Mercury is always up to trickery. Is he coming or going? His winged sandals make a footprint into the sand as he leads his followers into the underworld.
