Ecole Saint Charles - Christmas Market Poster - 2014

Christmas Market Poster
Ecole Saint Charles, 141 rue Blomet, 75015 Paris - November 2014
I tried to best integrate the following:

- The school project for the year 2014-2015: the living world, naturalness, insects, beauty and magic of nature.
- The festive aspect of Christmas: the big year-end meeting, the pleasure of being together and share a warm moment
- The use of very many codes and especially diversions to prevent vision too "commercial" one hand (Coca Father Christmas) and a vision too focused on religion so I subtly mixed references - with on the one hand the Father Ladybugmas (Père Cocci-Noël in french) and his sleigh, which belong to a modern vision of the Christmas party but with much derision - and also a staging that incorporates many traditional history codes. Note that the Ladybugmas ultimately very similar in Saint Nicholas, since essentially carries fruits, sweets.
The crowd of worker ants who helped prepare her cargo, as well as many other diners feature a green cap, the traditional colors of Saint Nicholas - along with his sleigh sheet.
Finally, I took the codes of the composition of scenes (perspective, layout, light) such as those of the crib, or the adoration of the Magi.
On the border between films like Epic, Rise of the Guardians & Minuscule
