ISTD: Don't Need It Protest!

The Brief_Gather a complete knowledge about one single thing in the form of a publication. Consider the relationship between text and image, layout, grid use, colour, hierarchy of information and typographic treatment.

The Concept_We live in a world where desires are being confused with needs, and
Where, on a daily basis, it is common to buy ‘stuff’ we don’t necessarily need.
Thus, I decided to join the anti-consumerism movement and protest against overconsumption, especially the consumption of goods we don’t need. My concept resulted in the design of the Don’t Need This protest campaign.

The Execution_The execution of the protest campaign drew inspiration from consumer related elements used in everyday consumer culture. I decided to use ubiquitous objects like posters, shopping bags, tags and a catalogues, but to change the purposes of these elements in order to contribute to the message of non-consumption.
Project Overview and Protest Elements
All the protest elements come in a package that will be distributed at robots. The packaging communicates the instructions of the protest.

Protest Poster
The posters must be place infront of supermarkets and shops. It is a way to make the target market aware of the reality of over consumption.
Protest Shopping Bag
The bag has no opening. This is an indication that you don’t have to buy more goods.
