This project was undertaken during my internship with reputed designer Peter d'Ascoli. My inspiration for this print, was the beautiful and timeless art of Iznik pottery. Through my design I have attempted to capture the same essence that Iznik carries.
The main print. It was created keeping in mind the format of a circular pattern. Both the colors, and the motif identify strongly with every characteristic of Iznik.
Motif detail:
For the color variation, I derived inspiration from this Serenk ceremonial kaftan with ogival pattern from the mid sixteenth century; Istanbul.
