Rosewater Tumblr Site
Written and directed by Jon Stewart, Rosewater is the story of one man’s journey to find courage during his 118 day stint in an Iranian prison. The site, developed on Tumblr, is comprised of four sections, each one exploring a key feature of the film. Given Rosewater’s emphasis on the power of Twitter and social media in the wake of revolution, each section is labeled by a hashtag. The first three sections; #courage, #family, #hope, take visitors into a custom gallery comprised of original gifs, posters, and static social content. The final section, #voice, is a social outreach program where individuals can tell the world what they believe in by creating their own posts. All in all, this site created a hopeful, uplifting tone to inspire audiences around the world to see one of Open Road’s most courageous films of the year, Rosewater.
