BBC World Service - Sorry No News

Whats the problem?

The BBC are losing their funding to have the BBC world service to be broadcast around all the different parts of the world they lost over 2 million pounds and people lost a lot of these jobs. The way we need to help the BBC out is by getting more people to listen to the BBC world service. The ways to takle this is by getting the people who already listen to listen more or get some new people to start listening. By doing this its going to get the views and boosting the amount of people who listen there for then getting the funding back for the BBC world service.

Whos the sponsor?

My sponsor is the Metro and Amnesty. Metro I have used because there the newspaper company that give out free newspaper over the trains and busses this is the main way that people who travel read the new for the day, so this is a great way to get people to see whats happening. They would produce the newspaper for the trains and busses and there for they would also have their logo on the posters. Amnesty is going to be sponsoring all the poster and the online content. Amnesty has a very big cirle of people who follow them and stand up for the same rights. They have done a lot of work on freedom of speech and how this is taken away and this is how they can help me very one has the right to read news and by having these cuts there taking this away from countries. Amnesty sponsoring this campaign will give a wider view of all the work because of their big following.

Whos the target audience?

My target audience are the people who don’t listen to the BBC world service and they commute to a place of work or study. Also the target age is going to be 18 to 30. The reasons I have chosen these are beaucse when you are commuting on a train or bus you need something to make the time go faster that is why the metro have the free newspaper on there to give you something to read on your travels. By changing the newspaper and the posters around the train stations and bus stops this is going to make people look around and see the posters and the newspapers and see the link faster. The reason for the age is because this age is going to understand a lot more about the world around them and they will also be commuting a lot more then 10 to 17 year olds also they are going to find the time to have a listen to the BBC world service

Newspaper Print

My print work is a set of 8 posters that work in sets of 4 this is so they all link to each other and when someone sees on the link it to the next image because of the  style and they way it is layed out these are going to be from A4 to A0 in size. This is to cover the bus stops poster on the trains posters in the train station. Also there is going to be a newspaper that is going to be printed that is going to have one part of text and images in the middle of the newspaper to show them what it is like to take news away from someone and how it will affect the other countries. Finally there is going to be a advert that is the posters in the newspaper a cross 4 pages to get the link of they are taking the news away from people.

Newspaper Ads

My idea is to print the advert in the same style of the moving image but when people are looking though the newspaper there removing the news as they turn each page.
Online

The online part of my campaign is just a aid to show people that are reading the newspaper that they are taking the news away from them and this means that online news is going to end up disappearing too. I have coded the desktop and mobile version of this website to show if people was to be viewing this website at their place of work or on their phones on the way to work or study.

only avaliable on desktop at the moment
