TypeLimited is an ongoing art project by Joseph Alessio exploring relationships between objects, letterforms, and sometimes music. This piece is a physical interpretation of Neil Young's "Old Man"—a song describing the relationship between a young man with much exploring yet to do, both introspection and in the world at large, and an older man who has experienced more of life and has now settled down.

The song presents a unique set of dichotomies—a song titled "Old Man" written by a man by the name of Young, who was himself young at the time of composition but is now nearly 70. Also present is a juxtaposition of lyricism and rawness, which I channeled in the piece—the matte black and smooth curves of the guitar, with the ragged gold script of the lettering.

This piece was shot with a Canon Rebel XTi and a tripod in a garage. The music is my own rendition of Neil Young's Old Man, recorded with a Martin DX1RGT, in the spirit of craft, on... my iPhone.
