The Idea:

Colours Of You, is a personal project in which I use art and design as a different form of language to communicate the vibrancy and energy around South Africans, with the hope of building a creative platform in Port Elizabeth for local and upcoming artists.

 

“Colours of You” started out as an exhibition curated by myself and few local artists in Port Elizabeth, and in a short time has developed into a platform where all forms of art are used as a way to communicate the distinct vibrancy and energy around South Africans. The main goal is to encourage people to proudly embrace their unique colours, laugh, smile and connect with our diverse cultures. Through this platform “Colours of You” seeks to promote both artistic talent and all things South African (People, Culture and Unity) by bringing people together through art & design..

 

The Event:

Create a platform which reminds people of who we truly are, socialize, connect and embrace our

diverse cultures. As a designer I believe that Art and Design has the power and ability to colour our minds and soul, giving its audience a refreshing new look on things. That being said, an exhibition would be an ideal platform to showcase our diversity through visual communication and comedic art. Therefore my idea was to create a collective exhibition which consisted of my own work along with various artists, designers and photographers around Port Elizabeth. +10 Artists displayed work with a special guest - Stand up comedian, Donovan Goliath (NMMU Graphic Design Graduate).
