DiffEcube began as an idea to create a more tactile way to teach mathematics in the classroom. The elipses, built of wire "derivatives" inside the cube pay homage to Newton's invention of calculus to solve the elipical orbits of the planets and the gravitational equation. The unfinished cube exterior is a reference to plato's classic unsolveable doubling of the cube construction problem.
