SwingBot Concept Design
The robot is made specifically for a Robocon Games Event themed "parenthood", in which an autonomous robot along with a manual robot has to complete certain challenges. One of the major challenge is to cross a field of strategically placed vertical poles, without touching the ground.
 
The robot swings from pole to pole autonomously by grabbing a pole with one arm, then rotating that arm's axis to grab hold of another pole with its other arm. the robot keeps swinging till it reaches the end of the pole field.
 
This robot prototype which was designed for "Pune Institute of Computer Technology", won consolation (4th) prize in 'International Robocon Pune 2014' for its performance in the event.
