Artist Tim Hawkinson is well known for creatingcomplex artwork that encourages the viewer to connect to the work through theuse of everyday materials. In Tim Hawkinson’s case, it is all about theprocess. He is far more interested in speaking about his materials, the processand techniques of his work. He is passionate about the experience whilecreating art. If someone asked him about a piece, he would begin by tellingthem what he did to make it. As a result, the objective was to create threeexhibition posters and a catalogue cover which reflected his style andartworks. For this reason, the use of scissors, bubble wrap, hair andheadphones were used to communicate the importance of his creative process aswell as the materials he had used in some of his famous pieces. By looking atthese posters and the catalogue cover, the viewer is able to obtain pleasure indiscovering a hidden texture from an everyday object, the unexpected quality offorms, and a clever and humorous solution to ordinary problems.
