「未 (mi) 」means "unfinished" or "unformed" in Japanese.

People tend to categrize arts - for example, "this is not art but fashion" or "this is design, not art."
We have a desire to make everything clear and to avoid ambiguousness.

Before we name on something new, there is a moment that it has no name with a beautiful blur.
Thus, Here is a suggestion that we should try to leave and obverve the uncomplished glimpse of objects.

My aim for this installation was to define a term called "fashion." In these days, fashion has exploded to vast fields including art, graphic design, space design, photography and so on. It is not easy anymore to define what fashion is. Fashion is changeable, temporal, and never finished completing. Therefore I used "water" as a metapher of fashion. Water also changes from liquid to air and solid.

「これはアートじゃなくてファッションだ」「これはデザインじゃなくてアートだ」という言葉が飛び交うように、人間は未然な概念をすぐさまカテゴリー化し、線引きしたいという欲求がある。

このように私たちは曖昧なものに新たな名前をつけ、未分別なものをなくしてきた。

しかし、私たちが名前を与える前の、名前のない曖昧な実体だけがもつ美しさは存在するのではないか。

現在「ファッション」という概念は衣服だけでなく、アート、グラフィックデザイン、空間デザイン、写真などあらゆる分野まで拡張している。改めて、ファッションとは何かを定義するのは難儀である。ファッションとは、時代や流行によって変化し、一時的であり、決して完成することはないーこのアイデアから「水」という物質との類似性を発見した。水も環境や温度によって、固体から液体へ、液体から固体へと、常々変容している。そのため今回は「水」をファッションのメタファーとして用いながら、ファッションの流動性、概念の曖昧な完全性をテーマにインスタレーションを企画・ディレクションした。
