Challenge:
To remind Mumbaikars the importance of public servants who are not only paid meagerly but also not respected for the selfless services they provide to keep our city clean, safe and secure.
Objective:
To ignite a sense of gratitude amongst the Mumbaikars so that they thank the Kakas (sweepers, watch-men, traffic police-men, fire and damage rescuers) for their srvices.

Approach:
14th September, 2012 was celebrated as the 'gratitude day'. Along with students of R.D.National College, 70 school students from St. John E.H.S (marol) marched all over the streets of bandra to thank the kakas (sweepers, watch-men, traffic police-men, fire and damage rescuers) gifting them Thank You Kaka (TYK) smiles and vadapavs.
With the support of BMC , a BTL activity named 'In their shoes' was organised on 10th September, 2012 to promote the campaign. Students of National college swept a stretch of linking road, Bandra.
Social networking sites , youtube , ambient posters in and around National college played a major role in spreading awareness about TYK Campaign.

About 240 Kakas all over Bandra were thanked by the college and school students.
When TYK was launched, we hoped to get some attention but instead we got a lot of applause and guidance to take this drive forward. It was a genuine effort that got a genuine reply.
After all, it's always good to remove time from our busy schedules to thank the ones who make our lives subliminally worth living. We don't say it each day but it's good to feel it once in a while.
