Não é vida. Nem é morte.

‘Não é vida. Nem é morte.’ flourishes from the concept of data gathering regarding the censorship that had taken place in the portuguese country prior to the 25 April (the Carnation Revolution) which provided the nation the sense of free speech. Set in this same thematic, the assignment (set in the University of Coimbra, Portugal) furthers the creation of a archive website which includes several creations related to said thematic.

The platform itself receives inspiration based on the infamous blue pencil censorship applied to the by-then media, be it newspapers, novels, articles or single documents, by the International and State Defence Police (PIDE), outlining into the digital ambient a strong and recognizable visual trademark that should be easily recognized by anyone within the theme.

Examples of censorchip resports.

Comparison between the original sheet style and the developed website.

‘Traveling Typewriter’ and ‘Anonymous Pro’ were the two typefaces chosen to be applied in the project. While Traveling Typewriter has a clear inspiration on the typewriter, Anonymous Pro and its traits can be seen as an evolution from the typewriter type.
