Kathak is an Indian Classical Dance form originating from the northern states. It is narration of a Katha or story in a dance. The rhythmic sound of Ghungroo (bells) tied around the dancer's ankles co-ordinate with the tabla beats of the music. With those elegant footwork and gravity-defying turns, Kathak opens a rhythmically engaging world before the audience.
