SPRUCE PINE POTTERS MARKET

The Spruce Pine Potters Market is a unique annual gathering that takes place in a small town nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Every October over 30 renowned clay artists host this event where patrons can spend a weekend perusing booths of pottery, talking to artists and enjoying delicious food in a casual and intimate environment. SPPM approached ODDS to design an identity for the event that they can use on all their promotional materials for years to come. Along with the identity, we created the annual postcard that is used as the invitation to the event and an advertisement for area magazines.

The SPPM identity system is a combination of the logo mark and signature. The mark, in it’s simplest interpretation, implies the gestural mark of throwing rings on a potters wheel. The overlapping thin concentric lines create a dynamic and sophisitcated container that highlights the SPPM event and its diverse range of artist participants. The signature, set in Nexa Bold and Nexa Slab, may be used together or separate from the mark.
